John Sexton
Yesterday I went to the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana to see John Sexton talk. He talked about what it was like to assist Ansel Adams. It was one of the best talks I have ever been to by a photographer. I had the chance to meet him 2 years ago when we were in Bodie State park. He came and talked to our High School class, I was a chaperon… After we sat around and talked about the future of Black and White films and papers… It was great to meet some one of that caliber. He has a new book out which I was given as a gift at christmas, autographed by the man… YOu can visit his website and buy his book at his site . He is speaking again this week in San Marcos some where. If you can make it it would be worth it. HAve a great day.

Bummer…I would have loved to do a Bodie workshop. Some other time for sure! I have always wanted to shoot in the Jackson area. I’ve never been there but I hear it’s beautiful. It’s not too far for me…about 2 1/2 hours. Closer than Bodie which is 5 1/2 hours away. Let me know when in May and I’d love to try to make it!
Thanks! Yours was the first guest book I ever saw – and it totally inspired me! This was my first – and I am so excited about getting the sample. I am using asukabook.com to print mine. This will be the first time I have used them – so Im really anxious! As soon as it comes in I will take some photos of the actual book and post them up.
